Leading Edge: First Steps is a skills-based leadership training program for people over the age of 18 who are interested in effecting positive change in their organization and community.

 

Whether you are involved in your community already, new to the community or a long-term resident who has not yet considered how much you can contribute, Leading Edge: First Steps will show that you can do something great in your rural community.

 

The program is focused on building basic personal leadership skills and knowledge that will help you to be more effective in your local organizations.

 

As a participant in Leading Edge: First Steps, you will …

  • Understand the value of leadership
  • Be able to build teams that work together effectively
  • Understand the fundamentals of healthy organizations
  • Develop community networking opportunties
  • Improve your effectiveness when communicating with others
  • Enhance your understanding of your personality and personal leadership style
  • Be able to develop and implement effective action plans
     

Leading Edge: First Steps will be lead by knowledgeable people within your own community who will ensure that the skills learned are relevant and practical.
